Help bring FREE books to children... If you're here, it's because you love to read. More than likely, this love of the written word is something you learned early in your life, and you've probably passed your love of books on to the children in your life. Some kids are not so fortunate. It is proven that children who are read to as infants and toddlers learn to read sooner, and the ability to read and comprehend will help children succeed. It is much easier to teach a child to read than it is to teach an adult.
The first book is "The Little Engine That Could", because of the importance of its message - if you think you can succeed, you will (remember "I think I can, I think I can"). Initially, Dolly began the program to help the children of Sevier County, where she grew up. Due to the program's success, the Dollywood Foundation is helping to replicate the Imagination Library in communities all across the country. How can you help? There are 2 options: 1.
